Telehealth Session
Standard Consultation
$230 * concession fees may be available $230 * concession fees may be available Telehealth appointments provide the same personalised and evidence-based psychological support as face-to-face sessions, with the convenience of meeting with your psychologist remotely via phone or secure online platform (such as Microsoft Teams). Telehealth offers flexibility and accessibility, allowing you to engage in therapy from a private and comfortable location that suits your needs, whether that is at home, work, or another suitable space.
Individual therapy is available for adolescents (16 years
and older) and adults, with each appointment lasting approximately 50 minutes. Therapy is tailored to your unique experiences, goals, and circumstances.
Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll spend time exploring what has brought you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope to achieve. From there, we'll work together to develop a personalised plan that reflects your goals and guides our work together as
therapy progresses.
Some therapeutic approaches may benefit from longer sessions to allow sufficient time for the work to be completed safely and effectively. The length of appointments will depend on your individual needs, therapeutic goals, and the approach being used.
For example, therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) often involve longer sessions to allow time for preparation, processing, and appropriate closure. Similarly, couples therapy may require extended sessions to provide both individuals with the opportunity to share their perspectives and work collaboratively on relationship goals.
If a longer session is recommended, this will be discussed with you as part of your treatment planning, including the purpose of the extended appointment and any associated fees.
Fees and Rebates
Session Fees
At Purple Door Psychology, sessions are tailored to your individual needs and goals. Fees reflect the time, expertise, and care involved in providing evidence-based psychological services.
Payment is required at the time of your appointment unless alternative arrangements have been made.
Medicare Rebates
You may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for psychological services with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or another eligible medical practitioner.
A Mental Health Treatment Plan allows you to access Medicare rebates for 10 psychology sessions each calendar year, with additional sessions potentially available depending on current Medicare arrangements.
Your psychologist can provide the necessary documentation following your appointment, and rebates can be processed through Medicare.
If you are unsure whether you are eligible, please speak with your GP or contact us prior to your appointment.

Many private health insurers provide rebates for psychological services through their extras cover.
The amount you can claim will depend on:
Your health insurance provider
Your level of cover

We recommend contacting your health insurer directly to confirm your eligibility and rebate amount before commencing therapy.
